Streak vs Pipedrive (2026): Which CRM Fits Your Small Team?
The wrong CRM costs more than a subscription. It costs the deals that slip while your team avoids updating it. I put Streak and Pipedrive head to head on setup, email logging, AI and what a team of five really pays, and I'll tell you which one runs my business.

Quick answer
Pick Streak if your team runs on Gmail and you want a CRM people actually use. It lives inside your inbox, logs every email automatically and connects to Claude or ChatGPT through MCP. Pick Pipedrive if you run a dedicated sales team that needs deep forecasting, manager reporting and 500+ integrations. I use Streak for my own business.

How I tested Streak and Pipedrive
I compared both CRMs side by side for the video above, round by round: setup, pipeline management, email, AI, automations, integrations and pricing. In Streak, I built my own brand-partnership pipeline with the AI pipeline creator and ran it on my real workflow. I priced both tools for a team of five on annual billing at the time of filming, then re-checked the pricing pages for this post.
What is the difference between Streak and Pipedrive?
Streak is a CRM that lives inside Gmail, and Pipedrive is a separate sales platform you log into. That one difference drives almost everything else in this comparison.
Streak isn't synced to Gmail or bolted onto it. It runs inside your Gmail or Google Workspace account. When you're in your inbox, you're already in your CRM. Your pipeline sits next to your email threads, and the deal record opens when you open the email. Streak says more than 750,000 professionals use it, including teams at Y Combinator, Twitch and Harvard.
Pipedrive is a standalone CRM with its own tab, its own dashboard and its own login. It's well built and used by more than 100,000 companies. Its core idea is activity-based selling: it helps a salesperson or a sales team stay on top of the calls, meetings and follow-ups that close deals.
Here's the distinction I'd keep in mind. Streak works for lots of workflows beyond sales. Pipedrive is built for sales, and it's hard to use in any other context.
Which CRM is faster to set up?
Streak is much faster to set up. You install the Chrome extension, open Gmail and you're in.
With Pipedrive, you sign up, customize your pipeline stages, connect your email, import contacts and then onboard your whole team to a new platform that lives outside their inbox.
Streak also has an AI pipeline creator. You describe your workflow and it builds the stages and columns for you. I asked Claude to lay out exactly how I work with brands, since it already knows my process. Then I pasted that into the AI pipeline creator, and in under two minutes I had a ready-to-use pipeline built around my actual workflow.
Streak works with a free Gmail account or a paid Google Workspace account.
Round winner: Streak.
How do their pipelines and deal management compare?
Both give you visual pipeline stages, deal records, activity tracking and custom fields. The difference is where you work the deal.
In Pipedrive, you click into a deal record on a separate platform, then go back to your inbox to reply. In Streak, you open the email thread and the deal record is already there beside it. Same screen, same place. That's what keeps a CRM up to date, because nobody has to remember to go update it later.
Streak can also add a new prospect to your CRM automatically when they email you, so contacts fill in with no extra work.
Pipedrive's edge here is analytics. Its Insights feature gives you real-time charts, pipeline forecasting and deal velocity metrics that Streak doesn't match at the same depth. If you run a sales team and need manager-level reporting, Pipedrive is stronger. That visibility comes with the extra work of managing a standalone product.
Round winner: Pipedrive for reporting, Streak for daily use.
Does Pipedrive or Streak handle email better?
Streak wins on email, and it's not close. This is the biggest gap between the two tools.
If your team uses Gmail, Pipedrive logs email through a BCC address or rule-based email sync that you configure. It works. But your team has to remember the BCC address, or trust that the sync rules are set up right. Miss a few emails and your deal history becomes a mess.
Streak logs email automatically because it's inside Gmail. Every thread that touches a deal is on the deal. No BCC, no setup, nobody forgetting. You can flip between the pipeline view and an email to see exactly where a deal stands.
Streak also has native mail merge for bulk email the right way. Say you want to email everyone in one pipeline stage. You select them, click mail merge and send a personalized, tracked email to each person individually. You get up to 50 a day on the free plan and up to 1,500 a day on paid plans.
In Pipedrive, bulk email comes through the Campaigns add-on, so it isn't part of the core pipeline. For teams whose main sales motion is email, that difference adds up over time.
Round winner: Streak.
Which has better AI features?
Streak's AI works with your deal context, while Pipedrive's AI focuses on analytics and next steps.
Pipedrive AI covers pipeline analytics, AI-generated reports, deal scoring and an AI sales assistant that suggests next steps based on your pipeline data.
Streak AI includes:
AI summaries: a one-click recap of a whole deal history.
Ask AI: plain-language questions about a deal, like "where did we leave off on pricing?" The answer comes from your actual emails and deal data, not only the CRM fields.
AI auto fields: enrich new lead records from your team's shared email threads plus live web research. If anyone on your team has emailed that contact before, it pulls that in, so you see the whole team's relationship, not only your side of it.
AI automations: generate AI content as part of pipeline actions.
MCP servers: connect Streak directly to Claude or ChatGPT.
The MCP servers are one of my favorite features. You can bring a full reasoning model into your pipeline data from outside the CRM, and connect it to any other tool that has an MCP. For me, that means my meeting note taker, my phone system, my Notion account and more. Pipedrive had no MCP server when I filmed the video.
Round winner: Streak.
How do automations and integrations compare?
Pipedrive wins on integrations, while Streak pairs its automations with AI.
Automations. Pipedrive's Growth plan and up include solid automations, with triggers tied to deal stages, activities and contacts. Streak's automations come on Pro+ and include AI action steps. When a deal moves stages, Streak can write a deal summary, draft a follow-up or send a Slack alert with context, without you touching anything.
Integrations. Pipedrive has more than 500 integrations, including Zapier, Zoom, Slack and Facebook lead ads, in a big marketplace. Streak covers the essentials: deep native Google Workspace, Slack, LinkedIn, Calendly, Typeform, the Allo phone system, Zapier (which opens up thousands more apps) and a public REST API with webhooks.
For most small businesses, the integration gap won't matter. If a specific tool is essential to your workflow, check how it connects before you commit.
Round winner: Pipedrive for integrations, Streak for AI automations.
Streak vs Pipedrive pricing: what does a team of 5 pay?
Pipedrive starts cheaper, but Streak has a free plan and includes more in each paid tier. Prices below are per user per month on annual billing.
Plan | Price (annual) | What you get |
Streak Free | $0, free forever | Email and link tracking, snippets, mail merge up to 50/day. No CRM pipelines |
Streak Pro | $49 ($59 monthly) | The full CRM inside Gmail, shared pipelines, 20 AI credits per user |
Streak Pro+ | $69 ($89 monthly) | Automations, advanced reports, 150 AI credits per user. 14-day free trial |
Pipedrive Lite | $14 | Basic pipeline, very limited |
Pipedrive Growth | $39 | Email sync and automations |
Pipedrive Premium | $59 | AI features and advanced forecasting |
Pipedrive has no free plan, only a 14-day free trial. Lite is very light, so most teams start on Growth. Campaigns, document management and projects are add-ons on top, which can push your bill up by $50 or more a month depending on what you need. Those are roughly Pipedrive's version of things Streak includes, like mail merge, file storage with Docs and Drive, and more pipeline flexibility.
Team of five, top plan:
Streak Pro+: 5 × $69 = $345 a month
Pipedrive Premium: 5 × $59 = $295 a month
That's about $50 a month, or $10 per user. Here's what that buys you in Streak:
Every email on a deal logs automatically, with no BCC.
The AI reads your deal threads and your team's shared email history, not only pipeline fields.
MCP lets you talk to your CRM from Claude or ChatGPT.
If your team already runs on Gmail, that extra $10 per user buys back real hours every week.
Who should use Streak?
Pick Streak if your work happens in Gmail and you want a CRM your team adopts without training.
You want a CRM native to where you work. Not a sidebar, not a separate login, not another tab.
You run more than sales through one system: partnerships, support, hiring, fundraising or product development.
Your client relationships, deals or partnerships are email-driven by nature.
You want AI that works with your actual deal context.
You're a solo operator, a small team or a company with up to a few thousand employees. Streak scales further than most people assume.
It fits real estate teams, travel agencies, business funding, venture capital, influencer and talent agencies, and startups. If you're weighing other Gmail-based options, see my guide on how to share a Gmail inbox with your team.
Who should use Pipedrive?
Pick Pipedrive if you run a dedicated sales team that needs structured reporting.
Your team isn't on Gmail, or uses a mix of email clients.
You need deeper pipeline analytics and sales forecasting for a larger team.
You manage several sales reps and need manager-level reporting on performance.
You want the broadest integration marketplace as a safety net.
You run a large sales org where centralized permissions matter more than where the tool lives day to day.
If sales is the only system you need, Pipedrive holds up well. If you want a standalone CRM with more room for other workflows, read my monday CRM review.
My pick: Streak or Pipedrive?
I use Streak for my own business. If your business runs on more than sales and your team lives in Gmail, Streak carries all of it from an inbox you already know how to use. Pipedrive is the stronger pick only when you run a dedicated sales team that needs heavy reporting and a huge integration list.

Streak vs Pipedrive FAQ
Is Streak CRM free?
Yes. Streak has a free-forever plan with email tracking, snippets and mail merge up to 50 emails a day, but it doesn't include CRM pipelines. The full CRM starts on Pro at $49 per user per month on annual billing, and Pro+ comes with a 14-day free trial.
Does Pipedrive have a free plan?
No. Pipedrive offers a 14-day free trial, then paid plans start at $14 per user per month on annual billing for Lite.
Does Pipedrive integrate with Gmail?
Yes. Pipedrive connects to Gmail through email sync or a BCC address you copy on emails. It doesn't run inside Gmail the way Streak does, so you still work deals in a separate tab.
What is the best CRM for Gmail?
For teams that live in Gmail, Streak is my pick because it runs inside the inbox and logs every email automatically. Pipedrive and other standalone CRMs connect to Gmail, but you work in a separate platform.
Is Streak good for sales teams?
Yes, for email-driven sales. Streak covers pipelines, tracking, mail merge and AI deal summaries. Teams that need deep forecasting and manager reporting across many reps may prefer Pipedrive.
Can Streak connect to ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. Streak offers MCP servers that connect your pipeline data to Claude or ChatGPT, so you can ask questions about your deals from outside the CRM. Pipedrive had no MCP server when I filmed the video.
