How I tested EIN Presswire
I'm a one-person creator business, and I use EIN Presswire for my own press releases. For the video above I walked through the whole process: drafting with the AI press release generator, formatting to their guidelines, submitting through the dashboard and reading the distribution report afterward. I then checked every package and price against EIN Presswire's pricing page.
What is EIN Presswire?
EIN Presswire is a global press release distribution service, powered by Newsmatics, used by businesses, marketers, PR pros and agencies. You write up your announcement (a launch, an award, a new hire, whatever it is) and they distribute it across AP News, the USA Today Network, Google News and hundreds of industry and local publications through Affinity Group Publishing.
The biggest difference from the legacy wire services: EIN Presswire owns its own distribution technology. It doesn't outsource distribution to third-party vendors and pass that cost on to you, which is a big part of why the prices are where they are.
Why press releases matter for AI search now
For years, the whole point of a press release was getting a journalist to notice you. That's still part of it, but press releases now show up inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answers too.
Here's why. AI tools build answers from high-authority publications, newswires and news databases. That's the same pool a wire service distributes into. If an AI tool is ever going to mention your business, it has to find you somewhere in that pool first.
A press release also happens to be built the way AI tools like their information:
Clear and factual. Who, what, when, where, in plain language.
Structured. Every release comes with search-optimized titles, meta tags and up to three keyword links.
Repeated. Once it goes out, it gets indexed by Google and Bing and syndicated across hundreds of partner sites. The more places one piece of information shows up, the more an AI system treats it as worth repeating.
On top of that, every outlet that references you adds to your backlinks and domain authority, which helps regular SEO. If you want to measure whether any of this moves your AI visibility, a tracker like OtterlyAI shows when ChatGPT and other tools mention your brand.
EIN Presswire's key features
1. Distribution with 350 million monthly reach
Every package gets your release onto key publications plus TV and radio affiliate sites like Fox, NBC, ABC and CW. AP News, Nexstar Media Group and the USA Today Network together reach about 350 million monthly active users, on top of Google News, Bing and hundreds of industry and local publications.
Think about that if you're a small business launching a new product, or a nonprofit announcing a fundraiser. That's the kind of reach you'd normally need a real PR budget to get anywhere close to.
2. Easy to use without a PR background
You don't need any PR experience. The process is:
Write your release, or draft it with the AI press release generator.
Format it to their editorial guidelines.
Attach an image or video if you have one.
Submit it through the dashboard.
Afterward you get a detailed distribution report showing exactly which sites and outlets picked it up, so you're not left guessing whether it went anywhere.
3. A free AI press release generator
If writing a press release makes you want to close your laptop, EIN Presswire covers that too. You give the free AI tool a headline and a quick description, and it hands back a draft to edit in a few seconds. You can use it up to 25 times a day with no account required. I called it incredible in the video, and I meant it.
4. Built to scale for agencies
If you run an agency or handle PR for several clients, you don't have to build media lists and manage distribution by hand for each one. EIN Presswire extends your reach while you stay focused on strategy and the relationships that need a human touch.
5. Real human support and a deep knowledge base
When you have a question, you talk to an actual person. You can call their support team directly, and they'll walk you through distribution strategy, targeting or editorial requirements. That matters the first time you submit a release.
If you'd rather figure things out yourself first, the knowledge base is deep: getting-started guides, editorial guidelines, video tutorials, FAQs and white papers, including one on how press releases improve SEO and AI reach and one on what journalists look for in a release.
6. Pay as you go, no subscription
There's no subscription and no annual membership. If you only need one release for a product launch or a local award, you're not stuck paying for a contract you don't need. You buy exactly what you use.

How much does EIN Presswire cost?
EIN Presswire has three pay-as-you-go packages: Basic at $149, Pro Plus at $499 and Corporate at $999. Here's what each one includes.
Package | Price | Releases | Cost per release | Word limit | Targeting | Embedded images |
Basic | $149 | 1 | $149 | 700 words | 1 country, 1 industry | 1 |
Pro Plus (most popular) | $499 | 5 + 1 free | $83.17 with the free release ($99.80 without) | 1,000 words | 2 countries, 5 industries | 3 |
Corporate | $999 | 15 | $66.60 | 2,500 words | 2 countries, 5 industries | 5 |
Every package includes AP News placement, up to three keyword anchor links, one embedded video, a search-optimized title and meta tags, and no ads on the release page. You have 365 days from purchase to use your releases. EIN Presswire's pricing page lists this package as "Pro+".
Which package should you pick?
Pick Basic if you have one announcement right now and you're not sure you'll need another anytime soon.
Pick Pro Plus if you put out news a handful of times a year: product updates, new hires, milestones. The extra word count and wider targeting give AI tools more to work with, and through my link you get a sixth release free, which brings you under $84 per release.
Pick Corporate if you're an agency or a company running an ongoing PR calendar. It has the lowest cost per release and a 2,500-word limit.
Who should use EIN Presswire (and who shouldn't)
Pick EIN Presswire if you're a small business, startup, nonprofit, creator or agency with real news to share and no in-house PR team. If your goal is getting your news distributed, indexed and found by search engines and AI tools, it does that job really well. I use it myself, and if it works for a business as small as mine, it can work for almost any business.
Look elsewhere if your goal is landing a feature in a specific major outlet like the Wall Street Journal, or getting one particular reporter to call you back. A wire service by itself most likely won't get you there. That takes real media relations on top of distribution.
Pros and cons
What I liked:
The reach for the price. 350 million monthly reach used to require an expensive agency or a wire service membership.
No subscription or contract.
The free AI press release generator takes the blank-page problem away.
Distribution reports show exactly where your release landed.
You can call a real person for help.
What to watch for:
Distribution is not the same as earned coverage. Don't expect a guaranteed story from a journalist.
Basic is limited to 700 words and one country and industry target, so most businesses will get more out of Pro Plus.
My final take
The way people find businesses is changing fast, and AI is a huge part of that. EIN Presswire gives you a real, affordable way to be part of what these tools pull from, instead of finding out later that your competitors beat you to it. If you have news worth sharing, Pro Plus is where I'd start, especially with the free sixth release.
Once your release is out, make sure the page it points to is ready for the traffic. My guide to AI landing page builders covers quick ways to build one, and Omnisend is how I'd send the same announcement to your email list.
