All three of these tools check the standard boxes: legal e-signatures, audit trails, cloud storage and mobile apps. So the real question is which one was built for the way your business handles documents. I broke down SignNow, pdfFiller and DocHub by workflow, then rechecked what each plan costs today.

How I compared DocHub, SignNow and pdfFiller

I didn't run a feature-by-feature checklist, because all three check the standard boxes: legally binding e-signatures, audit trails, cloud storage, mobile access and security certifications. Instead, on camera I asked one question of each tool: what workflow was it built for? I walked through each tool's standout features, its pricing tiers and the type of business it fits, then finished with a simple decision framework.

On October 19, 2026, I rechecked the prices on the official pages and noted what changed since the video was published in May 2026.

If you're also weighing DocuSign or Adobe, I covered that matchup in DocuSign vs Adobe Sign vs DocHub. This post is about three lower-cost tools and which workflow each one wins.

What is the difference between DocHub, SignNow and pdfFiller?

SignNow is a signature-first platform, pdfFiller is an all-in-one PDF editor with e-signatures, and DocHub is a document hub built to live inside Google Workspace.

  • SignNow is built around one job: getting documents signed as fast and as professionally as possible.

  • pdfFiller handles the full document lifecycle: create, edit, sign and share in one place.

  • DocHub behaves like an extension of Gmail, Google Drive and Chrome, with editing, signing and storage in one hub.

A quick fact that surprises people: SignNow and pdfFiller both come from the same company, airSlate. pdfFiller's Premium plan includes SignNow's e-signature workflows.

Which is fastest for getting contracts signed? (SignNow)

SignNow, because the whole product is built around speed to signature. If contracts are constantly moving through your business, as in real estate, sales, legal, consulting, insurance or any service business, this is the one to look at first.

Unlimited users on every plan

What separates SignNow from the other two is its user model. Every plan, including the $8 entry-level Business plan, gives your whole team access. There are no per-seat fees and no surprise charges as you grow. That's unusual in this space, and for a growing team it's a big deal. SignNow's own site still says "unlimited users on all plans" today.

A signing experience with no friction

Recipients get a clean email you can brand. They click a link and open the document for signature, with no account required. Every paid plan includes an audit trail that records everything you need, and it's court admissible.

Where SignNow pulls ahead on workflow

  • Bulk sending to many recipients at once

  • Advanced signing order for multi-party contracts

  • Conditional documents on the Enterprise plan

  • HubSpot integration if your sales process runs through a CRM

  • Text message signing on Enterprise, so you can send paperwork for signature by SMS

SignNow and AI: the MCP

One thing I love about SignNow is its MCP, which lets you connect it directly to AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT. You open your AI tool, say "Draft this agreement and send it for signature," and it runs the whole signing workflow for you. If you want to lean on AI as much as possible in your business, that's a serious unlock. I show the full setup in how to connect SignNow to Claude.

Pick SignNow if: your contracts go out every week, your whole team needs access and speed to signature affects revenue.

Which one actually edits PDF text? (pdfFiller)

pdfFiller is the only one of the three that lets you change the actual content of a PDF. SignNow and DocHub let you add fields to a PDF and collect signatures. pdfFiller lets you get inside the document to edit text, swap names, update prices and change dates, like you're working in a Word document. That works even when you only have the PDF and not the original file.

Every other edit in one place

Beyond text, pdfFiller handles annotations, image insertion, redaction, merging, splitting, page rearranging, version comparison and full format conversion, such as PDF to Word, PDF to Excel or Word to PDF.

2M+ templates and AI document creation

The template library gives you over 2 million preconfigured business forms, including W-2s, W-9s, lease agreements, NDAs and client intake forms. AI document creation lets you describe what you need and builds it for you. For a small business that doesn't want to start from scratch every time, the library alone can justify the subscription.

Support and security

There's no learning curve and no IT team required. You sign in and you're working within minutes. pdfFiller also has 24/7 live human support, an actual person rather than a chatbot or knowledge base. On security, it covers HIPAA compliance and 256-bit encryption, which matters if you work in healthcare, legal or financial services.

My full walkthrough is in my pdfFiller review.

Pick pdfFiller if: you want one platform to create, edit, sign and share documents without stitching tools together or paying enterprise prices.

Which one fits a team that lives in Google Workspace? (DocHub)

DocHub is the most Google-native of the three. If your business runs on Gmail, Google Drive and Google Workspace, that matters more than you might think.

  • Edit and send documents straight from your Gmail inbox

  • Open PDFs from Chrome without downloading them

  • Work with documents inside Google Classroom

  • Import from and export to Google Drive

DocHub also works well as a place to store documents. You can organize files into folders and add an extra layer of encryption inside DocHub for sensitive files. On top of that you get a full PDF editor, fillable forms with checkboxes, signature, initial and date fields that you can save as reusable templates, and a clean interface. On Pro, signing is unlimited, with in-person signing, bulk send and secure envelopes. There's a mobile app for managing documents on the go.

I won't repeat the full feature tour here. It's all in my DocHub review.

Pick DocHub if: your team lives in Google and you want editing, e-signatures and organization inside the tools you already use every day.

DocHub vs SignNow vs pdfFiller pricing (checked October 19, 2026)

All three start at $8 a month on annual billing, and the plan most teams need costs $12 to $15 a month. The big difference is how they count users: SignNow includes unlimited users on every plan. pdfFiller's listed prices are for individual plans, with user minimums on its business plans, and DocHub Basic covers up to 5 team members.

Annual-billing prices from signnow.com, pdffiller.com and dochub.com, checked October 19, 2026. SignNow's Business price did not appear on the page we could load, so $8 comes from the video. DocHub's page showed euros to our check, so its US prices come from the video. DocHub's yearly billing saves 25% over monthly.

What changed since the video

  • SignNow payments: in the video I put payment requests on Business Premium. SignNow's own comparison chart now lists collecting payments from signers on Enterprise ($30).

  • pdfFiller month to month: the $8 and $15 prices are annual. Month to month, Basic is $20 and Premium is $40.

  • pdfFiller faxing is a paid add-on on every plan.

  • DocHub's free plan now shows one shared limit of 3 uses a month across core features, rather than separate limits for e-signatures and sign requests.

Which is cheapest for a team?

For a growing team that mostly needs signatures, SignNow usually costs the least, because adding people doesn't add seats. pdfFiller and DocHub are both cheap for one person or a small team, but check how the price scales with your headcount before you commit. pdfFiller's 180-day refund window lowers the risk of trying it.

Which should you choose: DocHub, SignNow or pdfFiller?

Match the tool to your main workflow, not the longest feature list. Here's the short version from the end of the video.

Choose SignNow if signatures are the bottleneck

Your main need is getting signatures from a lot of people fast, with your whole team involved. It's even better if you want to plug AI tools into your signing workflow through the MCP. The unlimited user model alone makes it a clear choice for growing teams.

Choose pdfFiller if you want one tool for everything

You want to create, edit, sign and share without paying for multiple tools. The template library, AI document creation and 24/7 human support make it the most full-featured all-in-one of the three.

Choose DocHub if you work deep in Google Workspace

You want editing, e-signatures and organization inside Gmail, Drive and Chrome, plus a free plan to start on.

If your main job is...

Start with

Sending contracts for signature all day

SignNow

Signing documents from Claude or ChatGPT

SignNow

Changing text, prices or dates inside existing PDFs

pdfFiller

Filling standard forms like W-9s, leases and NDAs

pdfFiller

Handling documents from Gmail and Google Drive

DocHub

Trying a tool for free with no time limit

DocHub

My final take

All three are solid tools, and all three offer free trials, so you can test the one that matches your workflow before you pay. If your team runs on Google, start with DocHub. If you sign contracts all day, start with SignNow. If you need real PDF editing and ready-made forms, start with pdfFiller.
