SaneBox Review 2026: Features, Pricing and Who It's For

SaneBox doesn't replace your email app. It sorts the Gmail or Outlook inbox you already have, so only real people land in it. I broke down the features that matter, what SaneBox can and can't see in your email, and what each plan costs after my $25 credit.

How I tested SaneBox

I walked through SaneBox's main features for the video above: SaneLater, SaneBlackHole, follow-up reminders, the daily digest, snooze and Do Not Disturb. I covered how it handles privacy and broke down all three plans. Then I re-checked every plan and price on SaneBox's own pricing page on October 18, 2026.

What is SaneBox?

SaneBox is an AI email management service that works on top of the email account you already have. It uses machine learning to sort incoming email into folders based on importance. And that means when you open your inbox, you only see the emails that actually need your attention.

You don't switch email apps. SaneBox works with every major provider:

  • Gmail and Google Workspace

  • Microsoft 365 and Outlook

  • Apple iCloud

  • Yahoo and Fastmail

  • Any IMAP or Exchange server

Here's the part that matters most. Once it's set up, SaneBox learns from your behavior instead of from rules you write. That's why it fits busy professionals whose inbox has become a bottleneck. Even as a content creator, my inbox becomes a bottleneck if I can't respond to what's important quickly.

Why your inbox feels out of control

My inbox used to stress me out every single time I opened it, and I was on my phone checking it all day. Here's what I finally figured out. The problem was never how much email I was getting. It was my workflow.

If you run a business, your inbox is probably doing the same thing. Every newsletter, cold pitch and notification lands next to your client emails. So you check constantly, because you're afraid of missing the one email that matters.

A quick test: if you check your inbox several times a day, if not nearly every hour, SaneBox is built for you.

SaneBox features that actually matter

1. SaneLater: your inbox becomes a shortlist of real people

SaneLater moves everything unimportant out of your inbox and into its own folder, automatically. SaneBox watches how you interact with your email: who you reply to, who you ignore and what you archive without opening.

And that means your inbox becomes a shortlist of emails from real people. We're talking about clients, your team and actual humans. Everything else waits until you choose to deal with it.

Training it is one drag and drop. Move an email from SaneLater back to your inbox, and SaneBox learns that sender matters. It works both ways, and there are no complex rules to write or fix. If you've ever spent an afternoon building Gmail filters that broke a month later, this is gonna save you a lot of time.

2. SaneBlackHole: never hear from a sender again

Drag an email into the SaneBlackHole folder and you'll never see another message from that address. You don't have to hunt for an unsubscribe link, which is my favorite part.

This matters more every month. AI cold email tools send sequences of four, five or six emails over a few days. One drag into the BlackHole stops the whole sequence.

3. Follow-up reminders that save deals

SaneBox reminds you to follow up when nobody replies to an email by a deadline you set. Gmail has a version of this built in, but not every email provider does.

If you do sales, partnerships or client work, you know how many deals die simply because nobody follows up. This is where real money and revenue live, and the reminders run in the background for you.

4. The daily digest: your safety net

The SaneBox Daily Digest is a daily summary of filtered emails you haven't opened yet. You can scan everything SaneBox moved out of your inbox in about 30 seconds, take bulk action and keep training it.

Most people worry that a filter will bury something important, so they'd rather sort email by hand. The digest is your safety net, and it's included on every plan. That way, nothing slips through the cracks.

5. Snooze and Do Not Disturb

Custom Snooze lets you drag an email into a snooze folder, and it comes back to your inbox exactly when you're ready for it. Monday morning instead of Saturday night, for example.

Do Not Disturb pauses incoming email entirely. Honestly, this one is worth its weight in gold. It's built for vacations and deep work, and nothing gets lost while it's on. Too many people live and die by their inbox, and this one feature lets you get things done on your schedule.

Is SaneBox safe? Privacy and security

SaneBox analyzes email headers (sender, subject line and date) to decide what's important, and it never stores your full emails. When an optional feature needs to read an email's body, that body is never stored.

Business owners have sensitive data in their inbox, so here's what else is in place:

  • SaneBox passes the annual Cloud Application Security Assessment that Google requires for apps with access to Gmail data

  • Your login credentials are encrypted, with the keys kept in hardware security modules

  • Its mail processing servers never accept connections from the public internet

  • It runs an invite-only bug bounty program on HackerOne

SaneBox pricing (checked October 18, 2026)

SaneBox has three plans: Snack ($29 a year), Lunch ($49 a year) and Dinner ($139 a year). You can also pay monthly or every two years. I love these names, by the way.

Every plan includes the core filtering, Email Deep Clean, Email Organize, the Daily Digest and the iOS and Android apps. The power features are the ones you pick: SaneLater, SaneBlackHole, Reminders, Custom Snooze, SaneDoNotDisturb, SaneNews, SaneCC, SaneScreener, SaneNoReplies, SaneNotSpam and Attachments.

Snack is for one email account with two power features, and you choose which two. It's a good fit if you only want SaneLater and the BlackHole on a single inbox. Honestly, that combination alone solves a lot of email problems.

Lunch covers two email accounts with six power features on each. For most business owners, this is the sweet spot. You cover your work and personal email and add reminders and snooze on top of the core filtering.

Dinner covers four email accounts with every feature unlocked, plus phone support. Pick it if you run several businesses or manage several inboxes.

The free trial runs 7 days on SaneBox's pricing page and includes every feature on up to four email accounts. Educators, nonprofits and government agencies get an extra 25% off by asking support during the trial.

Is SaneBox worth the money?

SaneBox puts the average user's time savings at over 100 hours a year. On the Lunch plan at $49 a year, that's under 50 cents for every hour you get back. Just think about that for a moment. Even if you value your time at $25 an hour, that's $2,500 of time back for $49, and the math isn't even close.

Pros and cons

Pros:

  • Works with the email app you already use, so there's nothing new to learn

  • Learns from your behavior, with no filters or rules to maintain

  • Training is a single drag and drop, in both directions

  • SaneBlackHole kills cold email sequences without unsubscribe links

  • The daily digest catches anything filtered by mistake

  • Never stores full emails or attachments

  • You choose your power features on every plan below Dinner

  • Low prices: Lunch costs $49 a year for two inboxes

Cons:

  • No free plan, and the trial is only 7 days

  • Snack covers one account with two power features, so most people end up on Lunch

  • A third inbox means jumping from Lunch ($49) to Dinner ($139) a year

  • It asks for full read, send and delete access to your mailbox to work, even though it only stores headers

  • It's a personal tool, not a shared inbox for a team

Who should use SaneBox (and who shouldn't)

Pick SaneBox if you're a business owner, executive or manager living in your inbox, you get interrupted constantly, and you can't do deep work because you get stuck in email. In my opinion, you'll feel the difference in the first week.

Look elsewhere if your problem is a team sharing one address like support@ or sales@. SaneBox filters one person's inbox. For teams, a shared inbox tool fits better. I compare those in my guide to email management software, and if you're on Google Workspace, here's how to share a Gmail inbox with your team.

My final take

SaneBox fixes the workflow problem, not the volume problem. Your inbox turns into a shortlist of real people, cold email sequences go into the BlackHole, and the digest is there as a safety net. For most business owners, Lunch is the plan to start with.
